YPWA Member Spotlight October 2022

What's up Ghoulfriends? We hope you're all having a spooktacular October so far! Tell us, what are your Halloween plans, which movies are you binging, and what candy are you stocking up on?

We're so excited to kick another member spotlight! Every month YPWA chooses one of our members to feature. Our group is made of incredible women and WE WANNA SHOW YOU OFF!

This month, we want to shout out YPWA Board Member, Katherine Aguilar. Katherine won the WBJ 40 Under 40 award last month and we couldn't be more proud!

Name: Katherine Brissel Aguilar

Occupation: CEO/Founder K Sense Co.

Do you have career goals you'd like to share: I would like to scale K Sense Co to be your one-stop-shop for all sustainable goodies, including food with minimal to no packaging and refill rooms.

Hometown: I was born in Cusinahuat, Sonosonate, El Salvador- but I grew up in Worcester, MA.

When did you move to the Worcester area: Early 1996.

How long have you been a member of YPWA: I first became introduced to YPWA in 2018 but became more involved in 2021.

What other groups/activities in the area are you involved in, if any: I was in Leadership Worcester class of 2022 I HIGHLY recommend the program to Worcester natives and emerging leaders alike. I’m currently in this years Start Up Worcester class to help scale my business. I am a lead coordinator for Worcester Pride, I am the Chair of Equity Inclusion and Accountability for the League of Women Voters of Worcester, I coordinate an annual holiday drive with my mom called Komunidad Navidad to bring toys and Christmas dinner to 100’s of children throughout El Salvador, and a church member of New Wine Christian Center.

Favorite place to grab food in Worcester: Baba Sushi, El Patrón, Hermanos Lejanos, & Sabrosa Venezuela. (I'm a foodie I couldn’t pick 1)

Favorite shopping spot in Worcester: K Sense Co (located inside the Worcester public market) & TAJ Tropicals (just moved to Millbury).

A fun fact about yourself: I am a dog mom to 3 very different pups & they each have their own Instagrams (Brady, Khloé, & Benito).
