I am so excited to announce that I am leading YPWA through the remainder of our 22-23 season as president! Stepping into this role is a huge honor, and I understand its immense importance. I am eager to serve this group to the highest standards of excellence, and I am committed to ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of each member.
I joined YPWA in 2021 after admiring the group from afar for many years. I had always appreciated what YPWA does for young professional women and this community I love, but for a long time I was hesitant to dive in. I worried about timing. Oh, I just got a new job that I’m figuring out and I don’t have time. Oh, there’s a pandemic and I don’t have the time. Oh, I just had a baby, and I don’t have time. I finally realized that I was coming up with excuses due to the fear of trying something new or doing something for myself. So, I eventually said, “If not now, then when?” and plunged in by joining the board in 2021 with a 4-month-old baby by my side!
Turns out the time invested into this organization is well-spent and paid back over and over. Being a member of this group has been incredibly rewarding thanks to the friendships I’ve made, the skills I’ve learned, and the new experiences I’ve tried. Being able to lead the group as president is an honor I’m incredibly proud of and excited to dive into.
This change in leadership comes after our president, Kim Driscoll, decided to step back at this time. Working alongside Kim this year as her VP has been a delight. She is an incredible woman filled with joy, compassion, and love for this community and YPWA. I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!
Thank you all for an incredible year so far! We will finish it off so strong with some inspiring upcoming events! Any questions? Please feel free to reach out to me!
Thank you,
Catrina Gardner
