About the event

"I am a lone reed".

As Meg Ryan repeats in You've Got Mail, it can be lonely as an ambitious person in work and life.

In the book All the Gold Stars: Reimagining Ambition and the Ways We Strive by Rainesford Stauffer, we join the author in diving into the layers that shape our perception of societial purpose and discover how to reclaim our relationship with ambition and achievement. This book felt a significant place to wrap up Women's History Month, so let's come together and discuss!

This event is free for active members, so it's a great time to look into renewing or starting your membership with YPWA!  We can't wait to gather with our friends and cozy up at Tidepool. Self-help books not your vibe? Come anyway and jump into our discussion (or take it all in), and maybe you'll pick up a new book in the process.

What to expect:

This event is BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug): We don't know about you, but there's nothing better than your favorite mug and a good book. We'll have coffee or tea (both depending on the number of attendees available to enjoy during our discussion. We'll give you a holler before the meeting to tell you what to expect for beverages.

Raffle: We love a good raffle, and the wonderful owners of Tidepool were generous enough to offer a free copy of this book! If you want to enter the raffle, book your tickets to the event by 3/12. We will promote this on one of our IG posts, but if you've secured your ticket, consider yourself entered!

Parking: This location is in the same lot as Nancy Chang's, so there is plenty of parking available

Discussion points: We'll have some questions to guide us, and the plan will be to share most of them in advance to help anyone who might want to reflect before we meet.

Post-discussion delights: We'd love to continue this little party with an optional early lunch. Usually, we host evening events, so it would be nice to pop into a local lunch spot nearby and give us all a chance to catch up outside our book's confines. Details forthcoming!
